Cran-Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS

8 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin

1, 12 oz. bag of fresh cranberries

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

A few sprinkles of nutmeg

7 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 cup quick cooking oats

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 stick of butter, melted

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 F.

In a 9 X 13 greased pan, layer the apples and cranberries evenly.

In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, 1 TBS of flour and cinnamon. Pour evenly over the fruit.

Sprinkle some nutmeg over the dish and then add the lemon juice.

In a medium bowl, combine the oats, 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Stir to combine.

Add the melted butter and stir until mixture is moist. Sprinkle oat mixture over the apple/cran mixture.

Bake uncovered, 40-45 minutes or until the top is brown and slightly crunchy.
