Traditional Mac-n-Cheese


6 T unsalted butter

6 T flour

3 cups whole milk

Pinch of salt

16 oz. Velveeta, cubed

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Box of pasta



Preheat oven to 350 F.

Make noodles, drain, pour them back into the pot and set aside.

In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and make a roux.

Add the milk, 1 cup at a time. Whisk or stir between cups until sauce begins to thicken.

Add the salt and cheeses. Continue stirring until creamy and the cheese has melted.

Pour the cheese sauce over the noodles and stir. Transfer to a baking dish and bake, 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.
